His research interests include computational studies of photonic and phononic materials for applications in:
- optical communications (waveguides, micro-cavity resonators and modulators),
- lasers and LEDs,
- sensors,
- solar cells and
- thermoelectric materials.
He is also involved in computational studies of:
- hydrogen storage in nanostructured metal hydrides,
- absorption spectra of quantum dots and organic molecules for solar cells applications, and
- phonons and thermal conductivity in nanostructured materials such as graphene and nanotubes.
